In Osaka, “Tsuyu,” the rainy season, has passed and midsummer is just around the corner.
Tenjin Matsuri Festival, which is one of Japan’s three major festivals,
will be held around Osaka Tenmangu Shrine.
This is a symbolic festival of Osaka, the water capital.
On the night of July 25 (honmiya), there will be the major celebration event,
Funatogyo, and 100 houseboats will come and go on the Okawa River.
In addition, fireworks will be launched and make the beautiful reflection
on the river with the light of bonfire and paper lanterns.
Because of this beautiful scenery, Tenjin Matsuri Festival is called the festival of fire and water.

When it comes to summer in Osaka, you should not forget the fish, Hamo.
It is generally said that Hamo will be most delicious after it drinks water drops in “Tsuyu”.
